The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our Native Tribe, the team that builds Leonardo’s mobile apps and drives our mobile-first product roadmap. In this role, you’ll take ownership of complex feature work, influence architectural decisions, and support the growth and confidence of other engineers on the Android side.
You’ll work in a Jetpack Compose–first codebase using Kotlin, Coroutines, and Flow, backed by a GraphQL API and a fast, modern CI/CD pipeline. We value thoughtful engineering, clear communication, and the practical use of AI-assisted tooling to help us move efficiently while maintaining quality.
Your work will help shape how advanced AI capabilities become intuitive Android experiences used at scale. You’ll contribute not just to implementation, but to how we reason about architecture, collaboration, and product quality as the app evolves.
What You’ll Do
Lead and own major feature delivery from early discovery and scoping through implementation, release, and iteration.
Shape architectural patterns and technical direction to support modularity, reliability, and performance as the product grows.
Build high-quality Android experiences using Jetpack Compose, Kotlin, Coroutines, Flow, and clean state management patterns.
Improve production health and stability through instrumentation, debugging, monitoring, and incident support.
Collaborate closely with design, product, backend, and iOS engineers to co-create consistent cross-platform experiences.
Mentor and support teammates through pairing, knowledge-sharing, and constructive code reviews.
Advance our developer experience and workflows, including evaluating where AI-assisted development can meaningfully accelerate delivery.
Skills We Value
Strong experience building and shipping Android apps in Kotlin, with Jetpack Compose in production.
Proficiency with Coroutines, Flow, and modern Android architecture patterns.
Confidence reasoning across architecture and performance, including trade-offs between simplicity, speed, and scalability.
Experience leading complex or ambiguous work, breaking down problems and providing clarity.
Collaborative communication and cross-functional alignment, particularly with design and product.
Interest in mentoring and helping others grow, through pairing, review culture, and supportive guidance.
Curiosity and initiative, shown through exploring new tools, libraries, and more innovative ways of working.
