The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This role involves preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing customer billings, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in invoicing, and maintaining up-to-date records.

Responsibilities

General Accounting

  • Support timely month-end close procedures by preparing and posting general ledger entries
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Maintain month-end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Assist with tax preparation and filings as well as applicable audits

Customer Invoicing

  • Generate and send out invoices to clients in a timely manner
  • Identify and resolve billing discrepancies and respond to client inquiries
  • Maintain and update billing records and client accounts
  • Prepare and present regular billing reports to management
  • Assist in the development and implementation of billing policies and procedures
  • Provide support to the sales department and customers with respect to the completion of required customer forms, requests for information, etc.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of General Ledger experience with customer billing experience
  • Ability to handle high volume of customer invoices
  • Preferred knowledgeable on NetSuite (ERP)
  • BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field of study
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel including pivot tables and X-lookups
  • Comfortable working independently and owning your work from start to finish
  • Highly organized, accurate and has strong attention to detail
  • Fast learner who is self-motivated and makes well-informed decisions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and internal teams
