Role Overview
The Local SEO Implementor is responsible for managing, optimizing, and maintaining local business listings across multiple platforms to ensure consistent NAP data, strong local visibility, and improved map and local pack rankings.
This role focuses on execution and accuracy at scale, implementing local SEO best practices including Google Business Profile optimization, review management, citation building, and local ranking analysis. You will work closely with internal SEO and strategy teams to support location-based SEO initiatives across single-location and multi-location businesses.
This is a non-client-facing, execution-focused role, ideal for someone who thrives in structured environments and enjoys improving performance through precision and process.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit, update, and maintain business listings across major directories including Google, Bing, Apple Maps, Yelp, Facebook, and data aggregators
- Ensure 100% accuracy and consistency of NAP (Name, Address, Phone) and business attributes across all platforms
- Optimize Google Business Profiles with posts, photos, categories, attributes, services, and Q&A management
- Monitor, manage, and respond to customer reviews across Google and third-party review platforms
- Execute citation building and cleanup projects, including duplicate identification and listing mergers
- Track and analyze local ranking performance using heat maps and geo-grid tools
- Implement location-specific content and optimization strategies to improve local pack and map visibility
- Maintain organized documentation and reporting for local SEO initiatives and outcomes
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Google Business Profile (formerly GMB) optimization and troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of local ranking factors, proximity-based search behavior, and map algorithms
- Experience managing multi-location businesses and large-scale local listing portfolios
- Familiarity with local schema markup to enhance local search visibility
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to execute repetitive, high-accuracy tasks consistently without sacrificing quality
Platform & Tool Experience
- Google Business Profile: Bulk uploads, API-based management, post scheduling
- Listing Management Platforms: BrightLocal, Moz Local, Yext, or similar enterprise tools
- Search Atlas: Experience with Search Atlas, including managing local SEO initiatives and implementing local performance tracking features (e.g., at GBP Galactic).
- Review Platforms: Google, Yelp, Facebook, and industry-specific review sites
- Citation Sources: Primary and secondary data aggregators
- Local Rank Tracking: BrightLocal, Local Falcon, GeoGrid tracking tools
- Review Management Tools: BirdEye, Grade.us, or integrated review solutions
- Citation Building Tools: Whitespark, BrightLocal Citation Tracker
- Bulk Management & Data Cleanup: Excel/CSV workflows and data hygiene processes
- Reporting: Local SEO dashboards and white-label reporting tools
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience handling 100+ business locations at scale
- Experience working with local listing APIs and bulk feed management
- Understanding of business categories, attributes, and service-area configurations
- Knowledge of duplicate listing identification, suppression, and merge processes
- Familiarity with local link-building and geo-specific content strategies
- Basic photo editing skills for optimizing business profile images
