Job description

Our client is a fast-growing, international services company operating in the financial sector, specializing in the management and optimization of asset portfolios through data-driven insights and innovative technology solutions. With a strong presence across Europe, the company is currently investing heavily in its digital transformation and is looking to strengthen its Data team.

We are seeking a Data Engineer to support the development and governance of the company’s data and information strategy, enabling data-driven decision making and business growth. In this role, you will design and implement data processes and policies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure data quality, protection, and compliance with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the collection, storage, management, quality, and protection of data assets.

  • Assess and propose improvements to database structures based on business operations and applications.

  • Lead data migration initiatives from external sources to core internal systems.

  • Develop and implement efficient data management procedures and data sharing rules.

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy policies and data protection regulations.

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance data management strategies and tools.

  • Support data integrity, standardization, and normalization initiatives.

  • Manage the reporting environment (data sources, security, metadata).

  • Assist in defining and revising data & reporting requirements for the data warehouse.

  • Ensure internal and external regulatory compliance in database implementation.

  • Provide technical expertise in data storage architectures, data mining, and data cleansing.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar Data Engineering role.

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Software Developer, or equivalent.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and solid knowledge of database systems and structures.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Experience evaluating data tools and recommending improved software solutions.

  • Understanding of addressing and metadata standards.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Experience in the financial sector will be considered a strong asset.
