The Role
Weβre a Leuven-based SaaS startup looking for an experienced Freelance HR Manager to keep our people setup running smoothly as we scale sustainably. Youβll own HR end-to-end, working closely with our Office Manager (who handles payroll, contracts, and day-to-day HR ops).
This is a temporary role with lots of variety, perfect for a hands-on HR freelancer who enjoys autonomy and startups.
What Youβll Do
Run recruitment AβZ (from role definition to negotiation)
Own Belgian HR and US compliance, policies, and best practices
Set up and manage Belgian mobility budgets and related policies
Support and improve performance management and feedback cycles
Partner with managers on people topics and employee lifecycle moments
Work with the Office Manager on payroll inputs, contracts, and HR admin
Manage international HR topics, including:
US employees (via PEO)
US payroll & compliance (NY experience is a big plus)
EOR employees (we work with Remote.com)
Requirements
What Weβre Looking For
Freelance HR Manager / HRBP with startup or scale-up experience
Strong knowledge of Belgian employment law
Experience with implementing mobility budgets in Belgium
Comfortable supporting US teams (PEO, payroll, compliance)
Pragmatic, hands-on, and used to working independently
Fluent in English and Dutch
Able to be on site in Leuven at least 1 day/week
Nice to Have
SaaS or tech background
Experience with NY employment regulation
