About Lynx
We were founded in 1988 and are a portfolio company of OceanSound Partners. We provide modular, open-standards software for high-assurance, mission-critical edge platforms. We apply these secure computing solutions in aerospace, defense, automotive, medical, energy, industrial, and space applications. We’ve expanded our capabilities in open-source and Linux-based development, aerospace and defense engineering, and certifiable safety-critical graphics, GPU compute, and AI at the edge through acquisitions of Timesys, Thompson Software Solutions, and CoreAVI.
Our main offerings include LYNX MOSA.ic, a modular operating environment that enables safe, secure, and deterministic systems to run multiple operating systems and applications on a single platform. We also offer Linux solutions for mission-critical edge applications, Managed Services for platform infrastructure and security, and professional Services for mission-critical avionics and spaceflight software engineering. Our solutions meet standards like DO-178C, ISO 26262, NIST 800-53, ARINC 653, and MIL-STD-1553.
Our technology powers critical systems like the Panoramic Cockpit Display and Integrated Core Processor, which saw a 25-fold performance increase. We’ve earned industry certifications, including the first DO-178 Design Assurance Level A certification on an Intel processor, the first SEAL certification for our hypervisor technology, and an FAA Reusable Software Component certificate for LynxOS-178. With over 20 years of embedded expertise, we’ve contributed to over 1,000 mission-critical projects worldwide, partnering with companies such as General Atomics for the Gray Eagle Extended Range UAS and Lockheed Martin for the F-35 Lightning II’s mission systems.
