We’re looking for a Senior Azure Platform Engineer to join our Cloud PaaS team!
In this role, you will be a key architect and operator of a modern, self-service Kubernetes platform that empowers hundreds of developers. You will help build a compelling internal Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) product, ensuring our application teams can ship software at an enterprise scale—fast, safe, and efficiently. We don’t just chase trends; we choose technologies like AKS, Istio, Flux, and Crossplane because they deliver real value to our ecosystem.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Design, develop, and operate a large-scale PaaS for containerized workloads, acting as the Azure Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the team.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to plan and implement the technical roadmap for our strategic cloud platform.
- Build reliability and fault tolerance into the product, engineering systems that are simple to diagnose and fix. (Participation in out-of-hours support may be required).
- Streamline developer workflows by maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automating infrastructure through Terraform and GitOps (Flux).
- Guide and support the team by sharing technical knowledge, fostering an environment of performance and continuous learning.
- Implement and maintain robust security standards using tools like Hashicorp Vault and OPA Gatekeeper.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive hands-on experience and expertise with Microsoft Azure in a commercial, large-scale environment.
- Strong experience with AKS and cloud-native tooling (Helm, Istio, Flux, Crossplane).
- Proven track record of managing and automating enterprise estates via Terraform.
- Proficiency in one or more of our core languages: Go, Typescript, Python, or Bash.
- Experience with monitoring and logging stacks (ELK/EFK, Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, New Relic) and a solid understanding of SRE/ITIL principles.
- Comfortable in fast-paced environments using Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA for diligent tracking.
- You display pragmatism, empathy, and understanding when interacting with stakeholders and developer customers.
We’d love to get to know you better!
