The Role
We’re looking for a talented Data Engineer / Machine Learning Engineer to help shape the future of freight technology at Ofload.
You’ll play a key role in building a best-in-class AWS data platform that powers our Data Science and BI capabilities, helping us unlock smarter decision-making across the business and industry.
This is an opportunity to work on large-scale shipment and logistics datasets, building scalable data pipelines and production-ready machine learning solutions that directly impact how freight moves across Australia. You’ll collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Data Science and BI teams to develop prediction and recommendation engines designed to reduce inefficiencies and drive sustainability outcomes across the transport industry.

Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines using AWS Glue and modern cloud tooling
- Develop and optimise data models and AWS-based warehousing solutions for analytics and machine learning use cases
- Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science and BI teams to ensure high-quality, accessible and trusted data
- Deploy and manage machine learning models in production using AWS SageMaker
- Manage and optimise AWS infrastructure to ensure performance, scalability and cost efficiency
- Implement monitoring, observability and logging across data and ML pipelines
- Support feature engineering and model optimisation alongside Data Scientists
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer or similar role
- Strong hands-on experience across AWS services including S3, Glue, Redshift, SageMaker, Aurora and related tooling
- Strong Python skills and experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CDK
- Solid understanding of ETL pipelines, data modelling and modern data warehousing concepts
- Experience deploying, monitoring and maintaining machine learning models in production
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
