The role
As a Senior Product Designer you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience and design solutions for our generative AI products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, impactful, and visually stunning designs that leverage the power of AI to solve real problems. This role requires a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, a passion for AI-driven innovation, and the ability to contribute to our design process, standards and team practices.
Our Generative AI team will act as a central hub, collaborating with existing teams to deliver GenAI-enabled solutions within their scopes, identifying and leading new GenAI initiatives, and building the backend architecture to serve GenAI models at scale, all while controlling costs.
This role is part of our Platform function. In Platform, our mission is to build systems, tools, and capabilities that empower all our product teams to deliver the best possible outcomes for our customers.
At OLX, we value the flexibility that remote work provides. While this role is fully remote, we have a preference for candidates based in or near Barcelona. This allows for occasional in-person collaboration when needed, while still maintaining the benefits of remote work.
What responsibilities will you get when working with us?
- Contribute to the design vision and strategy for generative AI projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and user needs
- Design and visualize current and future customer experiences with relevant artefacts such as service standards, frameworks, personas, maps and blueprints, and customer experience strategies
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, researchers, software engineers and business partners to build coherent end-to-end services
- Participate in design practice activities and help maintain design standards, guidelines, and best practices
- Rapidly design, prototype, and test concepts for services and products based on a deep understanding of business and customer needs
- Facilitate co-creation workshops with product teams, collaborators, and business partners
- Communicate and advocate for design decisions. Present design work to the team for review and feedback to drive decisions and commit to final UX deliverables
- Promote the values of experimentation, design, and product experience quality within your immediate team and cross-functional partners
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design and AI
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to the growth of design capabilities within the team
As a Product Designer, you will need:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in product design, with demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
- You have proven experience and ability in all different stages, from problem definition to development, testing, and implementation of user products
- You thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy working with unclear boundaries to shape a solution, and are a self-starter
- You believe that being Data-Driven is the key to success for every business
- You are a team player first and foremost and believe great things come from collaboration
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills
- You are a self-starter and are solution-oriented, and you’re able to prioritize and work with minimal supervision
- Experience mentoring junior team members and contributing to design team growth is a plus
- Proven experience working on AI or data-driven products is highly desirable
