The Role
We are hiring a Business Development Manager to help scale ShopBack Ads, our fast growing retail media and advertising business in Australia.
ShopBack Ads is a rapidly expanding business unit focused on helping brands reach high intent shoppers at the moment of purchase. It sits at the intersection of commerce, media, and performance marketing, offering brands a powerful and measurable alternative to traditional digital advertising.
You will play a key role in building this business from the ground up. This is a true new business role where you will open doors, shape partnerships, and bring new brands into the ShopBack Ads ecosystem. You will work with mid market and enterprise brands across FMCG and Alcohol to unlock incremental growth through ShopBack Ads. We are already partnering with some of the country’s most loved CPG brands, and this role is about accelerating that momentum and scaling it significantly.
ShopBack Ads operates like a startup within a startup. We are building, testing, iterating, and scaling quickly. This role is for someone who sees themselves as a founder and owner of their patch, not just a salesperson following a playbook.
You will be trusted to run your pipeline like a business, make smart commercial decisions, move fast, and take real ownership of outcomes. We are looking for people with high levels of drive, curiosity, and accountability who thrive in ambiguity and enjoy building something meaningful.
What You’ll Do
- Sell the value of ShopBack Ads as a performance driven retail media channel
- Acquire new mid market and enterprise FMCG and Alcohol brand partners
- Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close
- Build and manage a strong new business pipeline with clear focus and prioritisation
- Open and develop senior stakeholder relationships with brand and agency partners
- Shape how ShopBack Ads is positioned and sold in market through real world feedback
- Work closely with internal teams to bring new partners live successfully
- Take ownership of commercial outcomes and pipeline performance
What We’re Looking For
- 3 to 5 years experience in business development or media sales
- Experience selling advertising, retail media, affiliate, or performance marketing solutions
- Strong commercial instincts with the ability to sell value, not just media inventory
- Comfortable opening doors and leading senior commercial conversations
- Thrives in fast moving environments where products and processes evolve
- A self starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Curious, resilient, and motivated by growth
