Job Description

Component Design Engineers are responsible for the design and development of electronic components. Responsibilities may include: the design of chip layout circuit design, circuit checking, device evaluation and characterization, documentation of specifications, prototype construction and checkout, modification and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components, performing developmental and/or test work, reviewing product requirements and logic diagrams, planning and organizing design projects or phases of design projects. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for designing DFT circuits for innovative 3DNAND flash memory
  • Development of complex DFT firmware for test time reduction and better test coverage
  • Running simulations to validate designed circuits
  • Collaborate within design functional teams to design new test modes and improve existing test circuits
  • Responsible for first Si DFT debug
  • Work with product engineering team and manufacturing teams for test mode validation and test time reduction

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • At least seven years of logic design experience with bachelor degree / at least five years of logic design experience with Masters degree
  • Expertise in RTL code, proficiency in scripting language, such as, Perl, Tcl, Make and automation methods/algorithms
  • Experience with firmware development
  • Understand mixed signal and analog circuits
  • Experience using logic simulation tools like runsim, verdi
  • Familiarity with simulation tools like hspice or XA
  • Experience using schematic editors like virtuoso

Desired qualifications:

  • Familiarity to layout tools
  • Ability to work independently to solve pre/post silicon issues

Additional Information

The compensation range for this role is $121,280- $221,700. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.

This is an onsite/hybrid role reporting in-office 2-3 days per week out of either San Jose or Sacramento.
