  • The work is investigative, analytical, and deeply human. No two claims are the same!

Whatever your ambitions, take your career further than you ever imagined. If you’ve never considered insurance before, think again! With diverse, meaningful projects and a global network of opportunities, we offer so much more.

We invest in our people and partnerships. Our learning experiences are vast, including exclusive industry accreditation, and we’re building capability for the future, both for TAL and the broader industry. When challenges arise (and they will), our supportive team will be there to help you grow.

Job Description

Are you craving a fresh challenge, a career reset, or simply want to do something that matters? We’d love to hear from you. Take the leap… Bring your story… Start your next chapter with TAL!

At TAL, we believe the best Claims Consultants aren’t found in one industry – they come from everywhere! Teachers, nurses, paramedics, social workers, first-responders, defence force members, hospitality managers, engineers, retail managers, office all-rounders, even those returning to the workforce… If you have worked with people, solved problems, or supported others through tough moments, you already have a strong foundation for success.

What we’re looking for is simple:

  • People with real life experience who can genuinely relate to our customers.
  • People who understand the importance of reliability and resilience in a role that supports people through some of life’s hardest moments.
  • People who appreciate the balance and realities of work and life, and bring maturity, empathy, and sound judgement to every interaction.

Age? Background? Previous industry experience?

Not a barrier. Not even close. We want what makes you unique - your empathy, your resilience, your ability to listen, your analytical mindset, your ability to think on your feet, and guide people through those “I didn’t expect this to happen to me” moments. Thrive in a workplace where we tackle these challenges together, solve problems, and celebrate each other’s successes.

What is Life Insurance Claims Assessment?

Think of it as the point where human judgment meets complex problem-solving.

When someone experiences an accident or illness that prevents them from working, you’re the professional who steps in to help. You’ll assess the situation, review their policy, understand the medical or personal details, and determine whether the claim is valid and how much should be paid.

You will help protect over 5 million Australians, making a real difference during their most challenging times of their lives with clarity, empathy, and confidence.

What’s in it for you?

  • Full career-transition training (we’ll teach you everything you need to know)
  • A meaningful, stable career where your work has real impact
  • A supportive team culture that celebrates diverse experiences
  • A role with purpose — helping Australians navigate life’s hardest chapters
  • Manage work-life balance with flexible working options, and well-being initiatives that prioritise your health

Qualifications

No experience in insurance? Perfect. We give you comprehensive training, hands-on support, and continuous learning opportunities so you can build a whole new career confidently.

This isn’t your typical insurance job - It’s a chance to reinvent yourself, build a new career path, and do work you can genuinely be proud of.
