The Opportunity
As our Director of Strategy, you’ll design and deliver a compelling business retention strategy for Elderbridge—balancing regulatory compliance, risk management, and commercial viability. You’ll lead portfolio segmentation analysis, develop treatment strategies for different customer cohorts, and renegotiate client contracts to ensure alignment between commercials, risk exposure, and cost-to-serve.
You’ll also assume full delegated responsibility for SMF1, accountable for the day-to-day running of Elderbridge during the assignment. This includes ensuring adherence to FCA requirements, Consumer Duty principles, and maintaining robust governance and oversight frameworks.
This is a high-impact, highly visible role where your expertise will directly shape Elderbridge’s strategic direction.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and delivering a regulatory‑aligned retention strategy for Elderbridge
- Conducting portfolio segmentation and identifying key customer cohorts, risk drivers and conduct issues
- Creating actionable insights and developing cohort‑specific treatment strategies
- Leading commercial negotiations and renegotiating client contracts
- Developing pricing strategies for lender‑of‑record services and portfolio servicing
- Ensuring strong governance frameworks, MI, and outcome testing remain robust
- Acting as SMF1 for Elderbridge, accountable for daily operations and regulatory compliance
- Presenting progress updates and performance insights to Elderbridge ExCo and Board
- Driving operational readiness and ensuring smooth implementation of new strategies

Experience & Qualifications
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
Proven experience in strategy development and execution within regulated financial services
Strong knowledge of Consumer Duty, conduct risk and FCA frameworks
Commercial experience including contract negotiation and pricing strategy
Senior leadership experience, ideally with SMF responsibilities
Experience leading complex, multi‑discipline programmes
Degree‑level education or equivalent professional qualification (desirable)
Salary of up to £120,000 depending on experience
