The Global Logistics Manager is responsible for the day-to-day execution and oversight of global logistics operations supporting the distribution of radiopharmaceutical products. This role ensures the safe, compliant, and timely transportation of time-sensitive radioactive products across domestic and international markets while maintaining adherence to applicable regulatory requirements, Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and radiation safety standards.

Working closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and external logistics providers, the Global Logistics Manager serves as the primary point of contact for transportation operations, shipment monitoring, issue resolution, and logistics performance management. The position requires strong operational leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time-critical shipments in a highly regulated environment.

Key Accountabilities:

Logistics Operations:

  • Oversee the end-to-end daily logistics operations, and international shipments of radiopharmaceutical products and related materials.
  • Coordinate transportation activities with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and distribution partners to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Monitor shipments in transit and proactively address delays, exceptions, and service disruptions.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for critical logistics issues impacting product delivery and patient schedules.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of shipping documentation, including export/import documentation and hazardous materials paperwork.
  • Coordinate shipment schedules with manufacturing, packaging, and customer delivery requirements

3PL and Vendor Management:

  • Maintain operational relationships with transportation providers and logistics service partners.
  • Monitor carrier performance against established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Conduct regular reviews of delivery performance, transit times, shipment exceptions, and transportation costs.
  • Support carrier onboarding, qualification, and ongoing performance improvement activities.
  • Assist with freight rate management and transportation cost control initiatives.
  • Oversee the end-to-end logistics operations, including transportation, and distribution; ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products and material in domestic and international markets.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance of Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and all applicable international logistics regulations and industry standards, including those specific to transportation and trade of hazardous and radioactive materials.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT, IATA, ICAO, ADR, and other regional transportation requirements.
  • Ensure shipping records and documentation are maintained in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support training programs related to hazardous materials and radiopharmaceutical transportation.

Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:

  • Track and report key logistics metrics including on-time delivery, shipment success rates, transportation costs, carrier performance, and service exceptions.
  • Investigate shipment failures and recurring transportation issues, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency and reliability.
  • Support implementation and optimization of transportation management systems and logistics tools.
  • Maintain logistics dashboards and operational reporting.

Functional Collaboration:

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks, including transportation disruptions, regulatory changes, and geopolitical factors, through proactive planning and contingency measures
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Supply Planning, Customer Service, Commercial Operations, and Quality teams to ensure seamless product distribution.
  • Participate in daily operational meetings to align production schedules with shipping requirements.
  • Support product launches, market expansions, and new distribution routes from a logistics execution perspective.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field required or in lieu of a degree 6+ years in critical time sensitive logistics
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role preferred
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or radiopharmaceutical industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, including FDA, IATA, ISTA and other relevant standards.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools
  • Demonstrated success in managing global logistics operations.
