Job Description

Why TrueAccord?

TrueAccord, a wholly owned subsidiary of TrueML, is a category-defining company. We combine machine learning with a human-based approach to transform debt resolution and to get people on the path towards financial health. Every year, more than 70 million Americans have negative experiences dealing with debt. We are changing this by providing personalized digital experiences that guide lenders and consumers through this challenging financial process.

With a world-class leadership team, passionate team members, and proprietary predictive models trained on years worth of transactional data, TrueAccord is well-positioned to deliver on a huge opportunity: helping millions of consumers to regain and keep their financial footing while lowering the cost of doing business for creditors across many industries.

About This Role:

When performance shifts on a $30B book, you will be the expert who explains why—and gets it right. Joining TrueAccord as our Sr. Performance Strategist, Collections, you will own the end-to-end diagnosis of performance shifts across our AI- and data science-driven recovery platform. Your critical goal is to translate data findings and system behaviors into high-impact, actionable recommendations that directly optimize liquidation, engagement, and client outcomes. You will work alongside a dedicated Sr. Strategy Manager, Sr. Data Scientist, and agentic AI tools, giving you full leverage to focus on deep-dive root cause analysis and strategic impact.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own Performance Diagnosis: Monitor leading indicators, separate external factors from internal drivers, and diagnose key shifts across clients, portfolios, and channels before they impact bottom-line liquidation.
  • Trace System Mechanics: Trace findings beyond standard data tables into application logic, rules, configurations, and processing flows to pinpoint technical defects or strategy gaps.
  • Drive Strategy & Execution: Turn root-cause insights into clear recommendations—outlining expected impacts and success metrics—and partner with the Strategy Manager to push them into production.
  • Lead Revenue Planning & Forecasting: Perform what-if analyses, scenario modeling, and stress-testing to support team revenue planning and size the impact of client/placement shifts.
  • Design & Evaluate Experiments: Formulate hypotheses, define decision thresholds, and run/read out structured experiments to scale, iterate, or discontinue strategies.
  • Shape Client & Leadership Narratives: Partner directly with Client Managers to deliver defensible performance narratives, challenge unsupported strategies, and join high-stakes client discussions when needed.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced Analyst: 6+ years in analytics with a strong focus on funnel/lifecycle diagnosis, cohort/curve analysis, or channel optimization (backgrounds in consumer collections, lending, CRM, subscription, or eCommerce are all great fits).
  • Diagnostic & Curious: Highly analytical with a sharp instinct for ruling out plausible-but-wrong explanations and a drive to trace root causes deep into software systems and rule configurations.
  • SQL & Data Fluent: Advanced SQL skills to navigate complex schemas (e.g., Snowflake) and build custom datasets independently.
  • Code & Logic Reader: Proficient in reading and tracing logic in Python or configuration files to understand platform behavior (no production coding required).
  • AI & BI Resourceful: Practical experience using AI tools daily in analytical workflows, alongside proficiency in self-serve BI tools like Looker or Tableau.
  • Forecasting & Testing Savvy: Proven ability to build defensible what-if models/forecasts and a working knowledge of statistical significance and experimental design.
  • Strong Communicator & Collaborator: Exceptional written/verbal communication skills to distill complex analyses into clear takeaways that inspire action across Strategy, Engineering, and Product teams.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience. (Bonus points for experience with ML decisioning engines, champion/challenger test design, or reading system logs).
