The Account Executive I is responsible for building client relationships with small to mid-sized businesses to drive revenue growth and customer retention. They identify new business opportunities by understanding client needs and offering relevant products and services. The Account Executive I also manages ongoing client communication to ensure satisfaction and secure contract renewals, and may support higher-level account executives. This is a full-time position with remote, hybrid and on-site opportunities available.
Responsibilities
- Identify and research potential customers through various channels, including networks, social media, and industry events
- Assist in preparing and delivering demos to prospective clients, showcasing our software solutions and their benefits
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their needs and challenges
- Track and manage leads and opportunities through CRM system, ensuring accurate reporting and forecasting
- Work with marketing, product, and customer success teams to follow strategies and share insights on customer feedback and market trends
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market demands to effectively position our products
- Assist other account executives with customer meetings, proposals, and other sales-related activities as needed
- Maintain a foundational understanding of products and services offered and assess specific customer requirements
- Relay customer feedback to internal teams as needed
- Maintain records of all client activities, such as calls and emails within HubSpot and CRM, ensuring all details are thoroughly documented
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales, account management, or a related field preferred
- Basic understanding of industrial automation technologies and solutions preferred
- Some exposure to programming and/or database experience strongly preferred
- A results-driven mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for customer success
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Basic understanding of CRM software and sales tools is a plus
- May be required to attend customer meetings on-site or in office as necessary
$70,000 - $80,000 a year
Pay
Based on the Sacramento region, the new hires minimum and maximum target salary for this role is $70k - $80k. This role will be paid hourly and is eligible for a bonus.
Inductive Automation’s ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Although it is not typical for an individual to start at the top end of the range for the position, compensation decisions are dependent on: the facts and circumstances of each case, work location, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs.
