The Accountant will be responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, managing full-cycle accounts receivable, overseeing revenue recognition, maintaining the general ledger, and executing month-end close procedures. This role requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
Additionally, the Accountant will collaborate cross-functionally to drive automation and process improvements, optimizing the month-end close process. Please note that this role does not involve fund accounting, and prior fund accounting experience is not required.
Essential Functions
- Maintain and reconcile Accounts Receivable (AR) Aging Report and track customer collections.
- Process and send customer invoices via email or customer portals.
- Update reports related to collection activities and ensure departmental KPIs are met.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare intercompany account reconciliations, consolidations, and eliminations.
- Manage SVB credit card expense review and processing.
- Provide monthly Market Launch Profit and Loss reports to Program Managers and ensure accurate cost adjustments in NetSuite.
- Support the month-end closing process for AR and Market Launch activities, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Assist in revenue recognition reconciliation against deferred revenue.
- Contribute to year-end close and audit processes.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and compliance issues.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects for process improvement and system implementations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Experience: 4 or more years of experience with Accounts Payable/Receivable and general accounting. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
