Job Description
Canva is a high-growth SaaS company valued at $32B, and in an exciting phase of growth: we’ve surpassed 220 million monthly active users globally and are continuing to grow rapidly across Enterprise, and international markets.
Where and how you can work
Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we’ve made our way from down under, to a hub San Francisco, which is now home to our US operations, although this role is fully remote from California .
About the team
At Canva, our Corporate Accounting team is building the financial foundation for one of the world’s fastest-growing SaaS companies. As we continue to scale globally, this team plays a critical role in delivering accurate, timely, and reliable financials to support decision-making and ensure operational excellence.
We’re not just closing the books — we’re transforming the way accounting works at Canva. We leverage automation, technology, and AI to simplify processes, drive efficiency, and create scalable systems that support long-term growth. As Canva continues to expand in scale and complexity, our team is at the center of that journey.
About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on Corporate Accounting Manager to help elevate and scale Canva’s accounting operations. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with full ownership of key close activities, reporting processes, and operational accounting areas. You’ll play a critical role in shortening the close calendar, strengthening controls, and partnering cross-functionally with teams across the business — including FP&A, Tax, Finance Systems, and Team Spend.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving problems, and wants to build processes from the ground up. You’ll have the opportunity to work at a mission-driven company that’s redefining the future of visual communication — and doing it at scale. As part of Canva’s high-growth journey, you’ll have the autonomy to make a real impact, contribute to meaningful transformation, and help shape the future of our finance organization.
What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that’s all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you’ll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
Own key GL areas related to OPEX, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Lead monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, and related reporting deliverables.
Drive automation and process improvements that reduce manual work and accelerate close timelines.
Strengthen internal controls and support SOX, audit requirements, and documentation.
Act as a thought partner across the business to simplify financial processes and elevate financial understanding company-wide.
You’re probably a match if
Accounting experience in both high-growth and public company environments. CPA certification or equivalent required.
Strong understanding of US GAAP, SOX compliance, and close operations.
A hands-on, individual contributor mindset with a passion for building and improving accounting processes.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-change environment, with strong attention to detail.
Interest in automation and leveraging technology to streamline accounting workflows.
