Our partner company is a pioneeringĀ Proptech startupĀ on a mission to transform how properties are managed and experienced through innovative, AI-powered solutions. As they build their platform from the ground up, weāre looking for aĀ Backend Engineer & Integration SpecialistĀ to help us design a scalable, intelligent data infrastructure that powers everything from real-time product discovery to generative AI experiences.
This is aĀ foundational hireāyouāll have true ownership in shaping our backend systems and integration pipelines, working directly with technical leadership and cross-functional teams.
šĀ What Youāll Do
šļøĀ Build from Scratch
- Ā Set up cloud infrastructure (VPCs, IAM, security, IaC via Terraform/Pulumi).
- Ā Define backend architecture, networking standards, and cost-optimized cloud strategies.
šĀ Integrate at Scale
- Ā Ingest large data streams (REST, XML, EDI APIs) with robust, schema-flexible pipelines.
- Ā Build resilient and idempotent data loaders that evolve with external data sources.
šĀ Own the ETL/ELT Process
- Ā Deploy orchestration tools likeĀ Airflow,Ā Dagster, orĀ Prefect.
- Ā Build and manageĀ dbtĀ pipelines, automated testing, CI/CD workflows, and versioned data repos.
šĀ Power Search & AI
- Ā Manage Elasticsearch/OpenSearch clusters and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate).
- Ā Enable AI with embeddings, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and LLM frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex.
ā Ā You Might Be a Fit If You Have:
Ā 5+ years designing and scaling ETL/ELT pipelines.
Ā Experience building data stacks from scratch or overhauling complex legacy systems.
Ā Strong inĀ PythonĀ andĀ SQLĀ (bonus: Java, Scala, or Go).
Ā Hands-on with:
- Orchestration: Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect
- Streaming: Kafka or Kinesis
- Warehousing: Snowflake or BigQuery
- IaC & Cloud: AWS, GCP, or Azure
Ā Experience managingĀ search enginesĀ (Elasticsearch) andĀ vector storesĀ (Pinecone, Weaviate).
Ā Knowledge of ML/AI fundamentalsāembeddings, feature stores, model ops.
Ā Passion for clean code, observability, data quality, and security.
šÆĀ Bonus Points For:
- Ā Real-time stream processing (Flink, Apache Beam, Spark).
- Ā Prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning, or experience with RAG architectures.
- Ā Integration of external APIs and third-party data pipelines.
- Ā Experience in e-commerce or B2B procurement tech.
