You will be joining the Atos Public Safety team in Greece, employing more than 70 highly skilled software professionals, who develop products and solutions leading the transformation of existing Emergency Services into the next generation solution and providing state of the art technology for fast and accurate delivery of emergency information including voice, data and video to first responders.

Athens Center of Excellence is seeking for an enthusiastic Backend Software Development Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Education & Profile

  • BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant field
  • 2+ years of software development experience
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality software on time as part of a team
  • Passionate about software/technology, ideally with contributions to open source projects
  • Perfect communication and presentation skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to travel

Technical Skills

  • Strong programming skills with a mindset of solving hard problems efficiently with creativity
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures and Design patterns
  • Solid understanding of application runtime performance, memory management, and concurrency
  • Ability to learn new technologies/frameworks fast, and apply them to *any* codebase
  • Fluent in at least one of the following programming languages - Java/C++/Javascript
  • Knowledge of unit testing frameworks
  • Experience in consuming divergent data sources, from relational databases to key-value stores and unstructured data
  • Working knowledge of the full application development life cycle
  • Experience with database engineering (SQL/NoSQL)
  • Hands on experience with Linux OS/scripting languages (bash, perl)
  • Knowledge of version control software - git/svn
