About the Role
Datacom is successful when our people are successful. Our PSG team – or Product Solutions Group, focuses on the products parts of our business. We cover a range of different offerings including hardware, software, asset management and procurement, working closely with our allies in the broader Sales team to ensure we’re providing the best solutions for our customers.
As a Business Development Manager in our Product Solutions Group you will uncover, maintain, lead and develop opportunities in some of our existing accounts, while finding new clients to grow our portfolio and reach targets. You will establish supplier agreements for products on customer accounts and manage supplier and procurement processes for allocated accounts.
This role is based within the Midlands region, based out of our office in Hamilton with occasional travel within the region when the opportunity arises.
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager, who is confident with business to business sales and most importantly hunting for new opportunities with the strong backing of the Datacom brand in the IT Product Solutions space. You’ll be a superstar in uncovering new opportunities and building long term customer relationships with a customer centric attitude.
What You’ll Bring
- Previous history in successfully selling IT Product Solutions in NZ.
- Proven business development and “hunting” experience in the IT industry.
- Established Vendor relationships/network
- Strong relationship management skills and commercial acumen
- Knowledge of the NZ IT Product Procurement Channel and in-depth knowledge across core vendors.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ideally you will possess local market knowledge.
- A relevant tertiary, procurement qualification or ITIL certification is advantageous but not essential
