About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining secure and scalable infrastructure to support a modern private banking platform. You will partner closely with engineering, security, and product teams to ensure our AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines are robust, efficient, and compliant.
This role reports to the Head of Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment workflows.
- Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Automate system tasks and environment provisioning to support rapid development cycles.
- Conduct security assessments and collaborate on security reviews across infrastructure and deployments.
- Set up and manage observability tooling (e.g., Datadog) for monitoring, alerting, and performance optimization.
- Facilitate code deployments and manage testing, staging, and production environments.
- Define and document deployment workflows, rollback procedures, and incident response playbooks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues and application outages in a timely manner.
- Support SOC 2 compliance efforts by implementing and maintaining secure, auditable systems.
Measures of Success
- Uptime and reliability of production systems exceed established SLAs.• Reduction in deployment time and increase in release frequency due to pipeline optimization.
- Improved incident response time and lower mean time to resolution (MTTR).
- Implementation of infrastructure changes using version-controlled, automated workflows.
- Positive internal feedback from engineering, security, and product teams.
- Successful completion and maintenance of SOC 2 Type II certification support.
- Reduction in manual intervention and improved infrastructure consistency through automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a cloud engineering or DevOps role, ideally in a FinTech or high-growth environment.
- Expertise in AWS services and cloud architecture best practices.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
- Familiarity with Python and React; experience deploying to Vercel is a plus.
- Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog.
- Familiarity with SOC 2 compliance processes is preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent certification preferred.
