Overview: (Key personnel proposal opportunity)

Agile Defense is looking for a Data Architect Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS) in advancing its Enterprise Services capabilities. This role will focus on designing scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions within a SAFe Agile framework. Responsibilities include translating complex business and technical requirements into enterprise-grade data architecture, establishing data standards, and ensuring seamless integration across systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data modeling, governance, and engineering best practices, and will work collaboratively with Agile teams to support iterative development and strategic data initiatives.

Clearance: Secret

Location: Remote –However, must be available to come on-site to the CJIS facility in Clarksburg, WV to pick up equipment and attend in-person meetings as needed. Travel costs will not be reimbursed to support remote telework.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field, preferred.
  • Experience in Data Architecture: Minimum of eight (8) years of experience designing and implementing data architectures, including large-scale data environments such as data lakes, data warehouses, and data mesh frameworks.
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms: Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), particularly for data storage, processing, and analytics.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Demonstrated two (2) years of experience leading and mentoring data engineering teams, fostering collaboration, and ensuring successful project execution.
