Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and creative Digital Media Specialist to elevate the digital presence of our high-performing clients—executives, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders. This role combines hands-on execution with big-picture strategy to drive visibility, engagement, and influence, primarily through social media, as well as SEO, digital advertising, email, and branding.

As a trusted advisor and digital strategist, the Digital Media Specialist will audit existing digital footprints, craft short-form content, and execute campaigns that unify web, social, email, and advertising channels. They will deliver tailored recommendations and manage end-to-end execution—from SEO research and analytics reporting to email marketing and social media content planning.

This cross-functional role requires collaboration with internal teams, including content strategists, graphic designers, and web developers, to ensure each campaign aligns with Member goals and brand voice. Responsibilities include direct communication with Members to align on strategy and execution timing, developing content calendars, executing and optimizing social strategies, managing email campaigns, and reporting on performance insights. The role also covers paid campaign management across platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized digital marketer with a passion for personal branding and a strong grasp of digital tools and tactics. They thrive in fast-paced environments, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and bring both strategic thinking and meticulous execution to every project, requiring no micromanagement.

Expected Outcomes

  • Lead as a Digital Marketing Expert and Strategic Partner: Consistently deliver innovative, data-driven strategies and campaigns that enhance Member visibility and impact via social media, websites, email campaigns, and digital advertising. Success will be measured by campaign performance (digital ad average CPC of $0.70, social post engagement rate of 4%, and web traffic above industry average) and Member satisfaction.
  • Continuously Evolve Digital Media Services: Stay ahead of trends, tools, and best practices to improve existing offerings and introduce new, high-impact solutions that meet Members’ changing needs.
  • Foster Exceptional Member Experience and Retention: Provide “Raving Fan” service through proactive communication, trusted guidance, and strong relationship-building. Support reduction in digital Member churn to <30% and support $1.7M in media client renewals in 2025. Contribute to internal training and process improvements to support a high-performing, detail-oriented team culture.
  • Oversee 15+ Concurrent Campaigns: Effectively manage multiple campaigns while developing smart data collection and segmentation strategies to inform ongoing optimization and personalization. Recognize areas of opportunity to suggest shifts in strategy and alternate services to achieve maximum impact.

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Experience in a digital media, social media, or similar role, preferably with a focus on publishing, thought leadership, or community engagement; agency experience required.
  • Proven client-facing experience guiding clients through multi-platform social media content strategies, integrated email campaigns, and digital advertising campaigns with a passion for delivering high-quality, proactive service.
  • Demonstrated success in developing innovative digital campaigns that drive measurable results, including follower growth, high post engagement, email open rates, optimal ad performance, and web traffic.
  • Proficiency in key digital marketing tools and platforms, including Mailchimp (or similar CRM), Google Analytics, Canva, Agency Analytics, and Semrush (or comparable SEO tools).
  • Deep understanding of content marketing, customer journey strategy, SEO, and email/database marketing best practices—including deployment, testing, deliverability, and performance analysis.
  • Strong marketing copywriting and editing skills, particularly for social media and email. Samples will be requested.
  • Proficient with the full Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive).
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with data and A/B testing across social media, digital advertising, and web analytics.
  • Skilled in developing and optimizing digital ad campaigns from concept through execution.
  • Familiarity with Monday.com or similar project management platforms.

Reporting Structure

This role reports directly to the Director of Digital Strategy.

Work Environment

We prefer a candidate based in Charleston, SC, who can work in our downtown office two days per week. However, we welcome remote candidates and are excited to explore talent beyond our local area. Non-local hires will be expected to travel periodically to our Charleston headquarters to collaborate with the core team and stay engaged with our company culture.

  • Visual acuity is necessary for reviewing materials and computer work.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods while completing tasks
