We are seeking a data-driven and strategic Director of Pricing Strategy to lead our pricing initiatives and drive revenue growth. In this role, you’ll develop, implement, and optimize pricing strategies across our products and services while ensuring alignment with business objectives, market dynamics, and customer value.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in pricing models, analytics, and competitive positioning, along with proven experience leading cross-functional teams to execute pricing strategies that enhance profitability and market share.
In this role you can expect to:
- Design and implement pricing strategies that maximize revenue and profitability.
- Lead market research and competitive analysis to identify pricing trends, measure elasticity, and uncover opportunities for differentiation.
- Use data analytics, A/B testing, and customer insights to optimize pricing structures and promotional strategies.
- Partner with Product, Sales, Finance, and Marketing teams to align pricing with business goals.
- Analyze the revenue impact of pricing changes and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Create targeted pricing strategies for different customer segments to optimize adoption and lifetime value.
- Present insights, recommendations, and impact analyses to senior leadership.
- Ensure pricing policies meet legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
You are a good fit if you have:
- 10+ years of experience in pricing strategy, revenue management, consulting, or a related field.
- Experience in SaaS, B2B, or technology-driven industries, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- A proven ability to design innovative pricing strategies based on market trends and data.
- A strong foundation in data analysis, financial modeling, and pricing elasticity studies.
- A thorough understanding of pricing economics, profitability metrics, and revenue forecasting.
- The ability to analyze competitive landscapes and customer behavior to inform pricing decisions.
- A track record of leading pricing initiatives across Sales, Finance, Product, and Marketing teams.
- The ability to present complex insights clearly and influence executive decisions.
- Experience with pricing analytics tools, SQL, Excel, BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI), and CRM systems.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth through strategic pricing.
- Experience managing and mentoring teams, a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: We offer competitive compensation packages commensurate with experience, including salary, equity, and where applicable, performance-based pay. Our Talent Acquisition Team can answer questions around dbt Lab’s total rewards during your interview process.
In select locations (including Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC, and Seattle), an alternate range may apply, as specified below.
- The typical starting salary range for this role is:
- $205,000 – $248,400 USD

- $228,000 – $276,000 USD
