Job description

Facilities Coordinator

Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) proudly opened its new, state-of-the-art facility in May 2024—an expansive, 100,000+ square foot space nearly twice the size of our original Tinton Falls location. This milestone marks the continuation of over 40 years of dedicated service to our community. Equipped with advanced diagnostics like MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, and a PET scanner, the hospital features 52 exam rooms, 12 surgical suites, a dedicated emergency department, and expanded training spaces. Thoughtful amenities—including feline-only waiting areas, a rehab unit, comfort rooms, and a serene zen garden—reflect our commitment to exceptional care for pets and their families.

We are currently seeking a skilled and versatile Facilities Coordinator to lead our housekeeping operations while also performing hands-on maintenance work.

Position Overview:

The Facilities Coordinator is a dual role combining supervision of housekeeping operations with hands-on facilities maintenance work. This position oversees scheduling and daily activities for housekeeping staff to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary hospital environment. In addition to supervisory duties, this role performs technical maintenance functions, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general upkeep of building systems and equipment. The position requires working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life safety systems, and the ability to respond quickly to facility issues and emergencies. This hybrid position plays a key role in maintaining the hospital’s physical environment to support patient care, staff safety, and regulatory compliance.

Compensation:

  • $25-$32/ hourly, based on skills and experience

Anticipated Schedule:

Facilities Maintenance

  • Maintain tools, supplies, and CMMS work orders.
  • Assist with equipment moves, seasonal tasks, and emergency repairs (including on-call coverage).

Vendor & Project Coordination

  • Oversee vendor work and small facility projects.
  • Ensure quality completion, compliance, and timely communication with stakeholders.

Regulatory Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to OSHA, building codes, and hospital policies.
  • Participate in inspections, audits, and safety drills.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and safety documentation.

Talent Development

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance reviews for housekeeping staff.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and ongoing training to ensure high standards.

Emergency Preparedness

Professional Standards

  • Promote inclusivity, professionalism, confidentiality, and respectful communication.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in facility maintenance
  • At least 2 years of full-time work experience in a leadership role (lead, supervisor, manager).
  • Experience in hospital, veterinary, or commercial healthcare environments is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevator systems, and building automation.
