About Taco Bell

Taco Bell was founded by Glen Bell in Downey, California in 1962. We are the largest Mexican-inspired quick service restaurant (QSR) brand globally, part of Yum! Brands.

We have over 8,500 restaurants in more than 30 countries and territories, serving over 42 million customers weekly. In 2024, our total system sales reached $17.19 billion. We offer a menu of Mexican-inspired food and were the first QSR to provide American Vegetarian Association (AVA)-certified menu items.

We focus on innovation, developing restaurant technology and AI solutions like Voice AI for drive-thru services. We were also the first QSR to launch a mobile app in U.S. restaurants for drive-thru and dining orders, offering rewards and early access to products. TIME recognized us as one of the 100 Most Influential Companies in 2023. We were also named Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise of the Year for five consecutive years, and Fast Company featured us in its Most Innovative Companies list in 2023 and 2024.

Fun fact: Glen Bell’s first restaurant originally sold hamburgers and hot dogs.
