KeenLogic is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Facility Security Officer (FSO) to join our team. This part-time, remote role is responsible for overseeing the companyβs security program in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), managing security clearances, and maintaining proper documentation and procedures in support of our federal contracts.
While the position is remote, candidates located in the DC/Virginia area are preferred due to annual in-person conferences. Candidates outside the area must be willing to travel on an annual basis.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen
- Active Top Secret clearance
- 5+ years of experience as an FSO supporting federal contracts
- Demonstrated experience supporting both W2 employees and 1099 contractors under a cleared security program
- Proficiency in DISS, NISS and NBIS
- In-depth knowledge of NISPOM, DCSA policies, and industrial security best practices
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related matters, including personnel and program security
- Manage and maintain personnel security clearances and associated documentation using the Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
- Oversee clearance initiation, background check coordination, and maintenance of personnel security records
- Maintain and update Facility Clearance (FCL) documentation, including Key Management Personnel (KMP) listings and insider threat program materials
- Ensure compliance with all Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) requirements
- Conduct annual self-inspections and support DCSA reviews and assessments
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and training in alignment with NISPOM requirements
- Deliver required security briefings and ongoing training to staff, including classified material handling and threat awareness
- Investigate and report security incidents or concerns and implement corrective actions when needed
- Coordinate visit requests, adverse information reporting, and other personnel security-related activities
- Act as liaison with internal leadership and external government stakeholders to ensure full compliance with contract security obligations
- Process visit requests and clearance verifications through DISS
- Monitor and report adverse information and incidents, as required
- Coordinate with leadership and HR on security onboarding and offboarding
- Stay current on policy changes and best practices in industrial security
