JOB SUMMARY

We are currently hiring Field Service Technicians for various roles within Avail Infrastructure Solutions, spanning across multiple business units and locations. In these customer-facing roles, you will travel extensively to install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems and Avail products. These positions offer a mix of hands-on technical work at customer sites and within our facilities, with up to 75% travel depending on the specific role and business unit.

The available positions are based in the following locations and are not open to remote work outside of travel:

  • Oshkosh, Wisconsin: Field Service Technician for Switchgear Systems with up to 60% travel.
  • Chattanooga, Tennessee: Field Service Technician for Enclosure Systems with up to 75% travel.
  • Medway, Massachusetts: Field Service Technician for High Voltage Bus Systems with up to 75% travel and extended stay travel.
  • Richland, Mississippi: Field Service Technician for Medium Voltage Bus Systems with up to 75%-100% travel and extended stay travel.
  • Suwanee, Georgia: Field Service Technician for WSI with up to 75% travel and extended stay travel.

Each role involves working closely with our engineering, production, and customer teams to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, and with high-quality standards.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience: High school diploma or GED required. 2-4 years of experience in the industrial electrical field or related experience is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to troubleshoot using instrumentation and technical knowledge.
    • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills preferred.
    • Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
  • Travel Requirements: Must be willing to travel 75% of the time.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Installation & Maintenance: Inspect, install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment at customer sites and facilities.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Perform tests to ensure system functionality and diagnose issues.
  • Reporting: Prepare daily reports, analyze data, and provide solutions. Complete time sheets, travel logs, and expense reports.
  • Collaboration: Work with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to meet project specifications.
  • Training & Support: Provide training to customers on equipment use and troubleshoot on-site.
  • Quality Assurance: Adhere to safety protocols and contribute to the Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
