We provide industrial automation by offering robotic systems to manufacturing businesses across the United States. Our “Robots-as-a-Service” model includes fully managed robotic systems for end-of-line tasks like case packing and palletizing, with no upfront capital expenditure (CapEx). This service has a fixed monthly rate and includes equipment, ²⁴⁄₇ service and parts, and software for data capture and analysis. Our robot fleet helps produce goods like chocolate chip cookies, matcha powder, specialty chemicals, and hardware fasteners.

Our products include Formic Automate NOW Palletizers, which help with labor turnover, ergonomic injuries, and productivity, and Formic Case Packing systems, which improve packing speed and efficiency. Our team provides ²⁴⁄₇ technical support, corrective and preventative maintenance, and includes spare and replacement parts. Formic Production Intelligence software gives real-time data into production performance for ongoing operational improvement.

Formic was founded in 2020. We have between 51–200 employees and are backed by investors with $10 billion under management. Our robots have accumulated over 400,000 hours of production, and our team members have been part of over 5,000 robot deployments. We specialize in Robotics, Industrial Automation, and Manufacturing.

We are a global, remote-first company with an office in Chicago, where some roles operate in a hybrid environment. We have between 51 and 200 employees, who we call “Formicans.”
