Job description
Cultivo is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join its Finance team. A successful candidate has a strong commitment to tackling climate change through the restoration and conservation of natural ecosystems. The successful candidate will play a significant role in the evaluation, due diligence, and financing of Cultivo’s land restoration and conservation projects, with a focus on transactions in the voluntary carbon market. The position will engage across diverse functions of the company.
Key responsibilities:
Conduct financial evaluation and due diligence of nature projects across a variety of geographies and ecosystems with the goal of facilitating their development – specifically:
Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models, including cash flow projections, sensitivity analyses, and scenario planning;
Prepare comprehensive investment and marketing materials; and
Assist the structuring of financing solutions involving equity, debt, and hybrid instruments.
Monitor the performance of Cultivo’s portfolio of projects, including tracking project costs, funding requirements, and financial covenants throughout the projects’ lifecycles.
Conduct relevant market research and data analysis, including economic trends and carbon market developments that may impact nature project opportunities.
Support the validation and verification process of Cultivo’s nature projects.

Strong academic credentials; degree in economics, finance, business, or a related field
Preference for at least 1 year of full-time experience, preferably in positions related to banking, private equity or venture capital, project finance, corporate finance, and/or consulting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint, with experience building financial models
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities to be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt to different people, cultures, environments, and situations
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish is a plus
