The Role

The FP&A Analyst at Burkland will play a crucial role in driving strategic financial planning and analysis to support the client’s growth and profitability. This position involves developing and implementing financial models, forecasts, and key metrics dashboards while collaborating with senior management to provide insights into financial performance. The FP&A Analyst will present financial data to company leadership, Boards of Directors, and investors, and will work to improve financial processes for greater efficiency and accuracy. Additionally, the role includes mentoring junior team members and ensuring compliance with financial standards and regulations, all while contributing to the continuous improvement of financial operations at Burkland.

About You

  • 7+ years of experience in financial analysis, with a strong background in financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic decision support, ideally in a startup or high-growth company environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Finance, or equivalent) strongly preferred for those with leadership aspirations in finance or corporate strategy.

  • CFA, CPA, or other relevant certifications are a plus and demonstrate commitment to professional development and expertise in financial leadership.

  • You have a passion for numbers and a strong attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex financial data while maintaining a strategic, high-level perspective.

  • You excel at developing and implementing financial models, forecasts, and key metrics dashboards that drive business decisions and growth for startup clients.

  • You can collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, providing financial insights that influence company goals and strategy.

You have experience presenting financial data to management, investors, and boards, ensuring key stakeholders are informed and aligned.

  • You are adept at identifying trends, implementing KPIs, and using financial data to guide decision-making for optimal business performance.

You’re highly organized and skilled at managing multiple projects and clients, ensuring that both long-term strategy and short-term deliverables are met on time.

  • You continuously seek opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve overall efficiency and accuracy.

  • You are confident in mentoring junior team members, sharing knowledge, and fostering a collaborative environment that supports professional development.

  • You actively engage in finding innovative ways to improve financial operations and help startups scale effectively.

  • You are driven, adaptable, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires both tactical execution and strategic vision.

  • Proficiency in Financial Tools and Platforms: You are highly skilled in Excel and Google Sheets, including advanced functions like pivot tables, conditional formulas, and dashboards. Experience with financial planning tools such as Jirav, OnPlan, AnaPlan, and Adaptive Insights, along with ERP systems like NetSuite, is crucial. Proficiency in SQL is a strong plus.

The base pay range target for the role described in this job description is $. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors such as candidate experience and expertise, geographic location, total compensation, and market data. In addition full-time regular positions are eligible for, 401(k), health benefits, and other benefits; some of these benefits may be available for part-time.
