Global Marketing & Sales | Head of Marketing Communications

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Marketing Communications to join Hitachi’s Global Marketing and Sales (GM&S) team, a high-profile corporate initiative at the very center of the Hitachi Group.

Operating at group level, we enable business growth by collaborating closely with Hitachi businesses to visualise market opportunity, articulate the Hitachi group value proposition and provide the structures and tools to enable teams to go-to-market as ‘One Hitachi’.

The role

Your mission is to connect the customer with our value and motivate one Hitachi teams, through compelling marketing communication programs designed to accelerate relationships and drive growth in key target markets and accounts.

By taking ownership of the global marketing strategy, you’ll shape how Hitachi business units connect with their customers, while building and leading your own high-performing data-driven team to drive the marketing operation at scale and ensure seamless collaboration with segment, account, and market intelligence functions.

There’s a direct link between your work and the company’s growth in key markets like infrastructure, mobility, and smart systems. You’ll also get the chance to contribute to sustainability solutions that make a real difference. On top of that, you’ll be recognized as a key driver of corporate change, with your work influencing internal and external communication across the entire Hitachi Group.

About GM&S

Hitachi is transforming to ensure sustainable growth and profitability in digital and green sectors by establishing a customer-centric business model. Part of this transformation is setting up global account management to better understand customer needs and increase Hitachi’s market share.

This transformation is led by GM&S, whose vision is to become our customers’ preferred partner of choice for their most critical challenges by providing impactful, sustainable solutions, delivered by experts spanning the full breadth of Hitachi’s portfolio.

What you’ll be doing

  • Devise marketing and internal communication strategy to power successful Hitachi customer engagement.
  • Onboard high-performing team, maximizing Hitachi talent mobility.
  • Embed customer-first mindset starting with market insight and the customer voice.
  • Oversee program delivery in close collaboration with sales and GM&S leadership.
  • Establish clear function KPIs and provide regular, actionable reporting and insight.
  • Lead regular cadence of program review, adjustment and development.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and ethics.

What you’ll bring

  • 15+ years’ experience in global business marketing/communication roles.
  • A proven track record in strategic communications, B2B growth marketing, corporate change management, stakeholder engagement, and internal communication disciplines.
  • Experience in building, motivating, and leading high performing global marketing teams.
  • The ability to influence and build relationships at the highest level.
  • Be a proactive driver of improvement, anticipating issues, setting priorities, and achieving results.
  • Programme Management expertise – demonstrable experience of successfully delivering global marketing programmes.
  • Cultural sensitivity and openness to work in an international business environment.
  • A strong commercial mindset.
