The role reports to the Engineering Team Lead, based in Cyprus. Our team is made up of individuals from all walks of life, each bringing unique experiences and perspectives that enrich our work and culture. Your contribution will be vital in ensuring our backend systems deliver exceptional performance, scalability, and reliability. You will lead technical initiatives, drive modern engineering practices, and collaborate across teams to create innovative, data-driven solutions.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Java Engineer passionate about crafting high-quality software in a dynamic environment.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend systems using Java.
- Optimize application performance, ensuring low-latency and high-availability in mission-critical systems.
- Collaborate with product teams and architects to design robust and scalable backend solutions.
- Implement best practices in development and testing, integrating CI/CD pipelines and automation.
- Enhance and optimize database performance and queries for efficient data processing.
- Work in an Agile environment, participating in scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to code reviews, mentoring, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
About You:
- Experience: Strong Java (Core, Multithreading, Concurrency, JVM tuning) experience in high-performance backend applications.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in Spring Boot, microservices architecture, relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), and distributed systems.
- DevOps & Cloud: Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Soft Skills: Proactive mindset, exceptional communication, and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Growth-Oriented: Passionate about tackling challenges, optimizing performance, and learning new technologies.
