🎨 Freelance Junior Graphic Designer (Contract)
Location: Remote (Central Time Zone preferred) | Reports to: Graphic Design Lead
Contract Term: 4 months | Hours: 25–30 hours/week | Pay: $17.50/hour
New Home Star is the largest privately owned seller of new homes in America. As a member of our Marketing & Creative team, you’ll support both our Corporate Support Office and our new home builder partners—helping them sell more homes, more profitably.
We’re hiring a people-first, detail-obsessed Junior Graphic Designer to join our team on a freelance basis for a 4-month contract. This is a great opportunity for a motivated design professional to flex their creative muscles across print and digital media in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll work on brand development, marketing assets, campaign support, and more—building materials that spark emotional connection and drive results.
Our Corporate Support Office is located in the heart of downtown Elmhurst and is not your typical “corporate” setting. 🎯 What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a motivated, goal-oriented design professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is excited by fast-paced, mission-driven work.
Requirements:
- Exceptional proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Experience designing for print, digital, and social media platforms
- Strong understanding of branding and the role of visual storytelling
- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and collaborating with a remote team
- Detail-oriented with a passion for producing pixel-perfect work
- Hunger to keep learning and improving
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field is preferred
- Background check required.
💼 What You’ll Do
Design & Execution
- Create marketing and sales assets for both internal initiatives and external builder partners
- Design web banners, print collateral, e-blasts, and social media content
- Develop and maintain visual identities for builder brands and new communities
Collaboration & Administration
- Partner with the Marketing Manager, Content team, and other designers on integrated campaigns
- Attend weekly status meetings and manage projects within our internal workflow system
- Maintain consistency across brand guidelines and ensure high-quality output
Research & Strategy
- Stay up-to-date on design trends and tools
- Help evaluate new platforms or subscriptions that enhance team capabilities
- Contribute to creative brainstorming and ideation for marketing goals
