Incorporating technical production of samples and international logistics from the site in Bury, with sales team and distribution partners to serve laboratories internationally. Sales team work remotely and independently around the globe, and have limited time and support for research to identify new customers
Job Description
To be responsible for the management of key accounts in proficiency testing in order to retain and grow the proficiency testing business and meet budgeted sales revenues. Ensures the effective flow of information between customers and the Proficiency Testing organisation including Business Development, Customer Services and Technical teams in order to provide superior services to our key accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake key account management to ensure customers are maintained and further opportunities are realised.
- Monitor service levels and revenue compared to the plan, measuring critical metrics and implementing action plans to address any possible deficiencies.
- Work with the AXIO Commercial team to onboard new key accounts for closed ring trials or global participation in routine proficiency testing schemes.
- Liaise with existing and potential key account customers to understand needs, recommend and implement solutions, and strengthen our position within their business.
- Prepare and lead regular review meetings with key accounts, including agenda and PowerPoint presentations, minutes, and action item tracking.
- Ensure that customer issues and requests are addressed in a timely, and professional manner.
- Act as an advocate for assigned accounts within LGC.
- Prepare and present key account renewal proposals, focusing on maintaining or improving margin while preserving customer value perception to secure business.
- Present AXIO proposals to key customer senior management teams and lead any negotiations.
- Support Business Development and Sales colleagues in the preparation of new key account proposals.
- Liaise with customers and technical teams on projects to address key account needs, including new scheme and sample development.
- Work closely with other PT sites, LGC Standards offices, and relevant distributors. Provide advisory support for key accounts managed by other PT sites and LGC Standards offices.
- Assist in the organisation of PT Group events where required.
- Provide support and appropriate training to relevant team members.
- Carry out any additional duties or tasks as advised that are commensurate with the role and position.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with defined company procedures, statutory requirements, quality systems, and accreditation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in key account management, preferably within the proficiency testing or related industry.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently implement central initiatives and achieve sales targets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, build positive relationships with senior management and key collaborators.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to measure critical metrics and develop action plans.
- Outstanding organisational skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding service and solutions to key accounts.
- A proactive and customer-focused approach, with a dedication to continuous improvement and excellence.
