Job description

How many testers does it take to change a light bulb?

Answer: None; we only find the problems, we don’t fix them.

Our client provides enterprise-class managed data center services. They have around 70 datacenters servicing 29 different markets, and we can’t disclose their clients – but think about any significant industry player from hyperscalers, banks, healthcare and social media platforms, and they’re likely in their CRM. They seek a Lead QA Automation Engineer to spearhead their quality assurance initiatives. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on automation expertise, focusing on delivering robust testing solutions for complex software applications.

The ideal candidate will oversee the entire testing lifecycle, from strategy development to implementation and execution. They will establish and maintain comprehensive test automation frameworks while leading a team of QA professionals in an Agile environment.

Core Functions:

  • Architect and implement scalable test automation solutions using modern technologies, particularly C# and Selenium
  • Drive quality assurance best practices across the organization through leadership and mentorship
  • Orchestrate end-to-end testing strategies, including functional, regression, and performance testing
  • Champion continuous integration practices by integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Foster collaboration between development, product, and QA teams to ensure optimal test coverage
  • Analyze reviews, document issues, and coordinate resolution efforts
  • Establish and track key quality metrics to drive continuous improvement

Ideal Profile:

  • Experienced QA professional with 6-8 years of automation expertise, particularly in C# and Selenium environments
  • Proven track record of building and scaling test automation frameworks
  • Deep understanding of modern testing tools and practices, including Selenium WebDriver, Visual Studio, and ChatGPT
  • Strong background in CI/CD implementation, utilizing tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI
  • Expertise in database testing and SQL
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience mentoring junior team members
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with a focus on complex automation challenges

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Test automation frameworks (Selenium, TestComplete, Appium, SpecFlow)
  • Version control systems, particularly Git
  • Database querying and testing
  • CI/CD pipeline integration
  • Performance and security testing expertise (preferred)
  • Manual testing capabilities

Additional Requirements:

  • Professional certifications such as CSTE or ISTQB are a plus
  • Must be available during Central Time Zone hours (6 AM to 2 PM CST)
  • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal forms
  • Self-motivated with high accountability and ownership mentality
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Experience working with distributed teams and stakeholders

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team focused on delivering high-quality software solutions through innovative testing approaches and technical excellence. This role offers the opportunity to shape testing strategies while working with cutting-edge technologies in an Agile environment.

If you are ready to contribute your expertise to a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply!
