About the role
We’re looking for an experienced, customer-obsessed, relentlessly-curious Lead Copywriter with a good sense of humor and an even better attitude. You need to have a diverse portfolio that excites, inspires, and makes us just a little jealous. You’ll lead the development of standout, high-performing creative, mentor junior writers, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure our messaging is sharp, impactful, and always unmistakably Cleo.
What we’re looking for:
- A US East Coast-based copywriter with 5-7 years experience, including managing more junior writers
- A practical dreamer, you’re a conceptual thinker who can bring ideas to life (and pivot fast)
- A team player, you’re excited to work cross-functionally and love to collaborate (and don’t let timezones get in your way)
- An excellent writer (minus the ego) who embraces ambiguity, isn’t scared of compliance or complexity, asks smart questions, understands business objectives, and dives into the data
Key responsibilities
- Bringing our unique tone of voice to life across channels and campaigns, including crafting copy for paid and organic executions, from one-off ad tests to larger campaigns or initiatives, as we launch our new brand
- Owning copy development for a variety of creative projects in their entirety
- Contributing to and leading creative brainstorming sessions
- Working closely with the design team and creative leadership to create conceptual campaigns
- Mentoring your reports, proactively managing their careers as well as their day-to-day work to ensure they are creatively challenged and personally fulfilled
