Job description

Tubular and Lineup have partnered with Chartbeat to help you grow reach and revenue for your content.

Chartbeat’s (www.chartbeat.com) mission is to help content creators around the world better connect with their audiences.

In 2023, Chartbeat joined forces with Tubular, the leader in global social video intelligence and measurement, and Lineup Systems, the leading global provider of media sales technology. Together, we’re expanding the ecosystem of insights we provide to enterprise content creators who are developing audiences and revenue streams across channels. We now serve more than 1,000 brands globally, including The New York Times, the BBC, ESPN, Gannett, Vox, BuzzFeed, Paramount, WB, Mediahuis, Hearst, McClatchy, and GQ.

You’ll be joining a diverse group of focused, hard-working people who are passionate about doing work that’s challenging and fun—and who strive to maintain a healthy work/life balance.

Chartbeat, Tubular, Lineup, and FatTail are united in our mission to connect publishers with the insights, tools, and technology they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving media landscape. Chartbeat’s intuitive and powerful software empowers media brands to use real-time and historical data to build loyal audiences across desktop, mobile, and social platforms. Tubular, the leader in global social video intelligence, delivers a unified view of audience behavior across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, and Twitter.

With the addition of Lineup, a leading provider of media sales technology, and FatTail, a pioneer in monetization and revenue optimization solutions, our combined platform now supports the full publishing value chain—from audience growth and content intelligence to ad sales and revenue operations. By bringing together robust, network-level datasets and powerful monetization tools, we help our partners better understand their audiences, make smarter decisions, and unlock new revenue opportunities.

Today, we serve more than 1,000 brands around the world, including influential media organizations such as The New York Times, the BBC, ESPN, Vox, BuzzFeed, Paramount, Warner Bros., Mediahuis, Hearst, McClatchy, and GQ.

Shape the future of digital content and audience engagement with well-designed analytics. Help our users turn data into actionable insights and workflows through delightful design.

The Role

We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer to focus on Tubular, Chartbeat’s social video analytics product. You’ll design user-centered, insight-driven experiences that help media companies turn audience insights into smarter content decisions and more effective workflows.

You’ll be joining a collaborative, curious, and kind product team that values thoughtful problem solving, strong partnerships across disciplines, and design that drives real impact. Chartbeat is a place where good ideas thrive, and where product and design are deeply respected.

While Tubular will be your primary focus, you’ll also contribute to integration efforts across our product suite, designing touchpoints that align content and revenue teams and improve how they work together.

What you’ll do

  • Lead design for Tubular, partnering closely with product management and engineering to define the design strategy and execute high-quality, user-centered solutions for roadmap initiatives. Own the design system and patterns used across the tool.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to shape both long-term product direction and near-term tactical work — with a focus on helping media companies extract insights from video and audience data.
  • Design polished, intuitive UIs that simplify complex data into insights and workflows, and empower users to make smarter content and business decisions.
  • Design for a range of platform constraints — balancing consistency, flexibility, and usability across varying data sources and content formats.
  • Partner with our design researcher to plan and conduct generative and evaluative research — customer interviews, usability testing, analyzing usage data, journey mapping, and more.
  • Work across a spectrum of challenges, from ambiguous, strategic problems to concrete feature design and refinement.
  • Contribute to cross-product integration efforts that create meaningful touchpoints between content strategy and revenue users across our product suite.
  • Collaborate with the broader design team on design vision, systems, and processes — including research practices, user personas, and team rituals.
  • Participate in and lead design reviews and critiques with designers, product teams, stakeholders, and leadership.

Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience designing digital products, ideally in B2B SaaS or analytics-driven tools.
  • Expert in Figma for design, prototyping and handoff.
  • Comfortable working autonomously, leading projects end to end, and collaborating closely with product and engineering to shape both vision and execution.
  • Strong UX and UI skills, with the ability to break down complex workflows into intuitive, elegant solutions.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
  • Experience in analyzing usage patterns and data, using Pendo or similar tools.
  • A systems thinker who can scale ideas into reusable components and design patterns.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and motivated to produce high-quality work that’s both functional and delightful.
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and energized by solving open-ended problems.
  • Strong communicator who can advocate for users while aligning with business and team priorities.

Compensation and Benefits:

We are proud to offer our team members a competitive compensation plan that includes:

  • Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401K with company match (100% of the first 3% and 50% of the next 2%)
  • Fully Paid Parental Leave - 18 weeks for birthing parents, 12 weeks for non-birthing parents
  • Phone and internet stipend
  • Wellness, learning, and coworking reimbursements
  • Flexible work hours
  • Unlimited PTO
  • 11 paid holidays and December holiday closure
  • Company-wide outings
  • The compensation range for this position is $164,000 - $197,000
