Job description
Swiftly is a retail digital technology startup founded in 2018 and headquartered in the Bay Area. We empower regional and independent grocers to compete in a digital-first world by providing best-in-class app, web, loyalty, and e-commerce solutions—without SaaS fees. Instead, Swiftly drives revenue through its retail media network, sharing profits with retailer partners.
With 70+ retailer banners and Series C funding, Swiftly is the first in the industry to seamlessly connect digital and in-store shopping. Our AI-powered platform helps retailers build strong digital relationships, while our solutions—Audience Optimizer™, Alcohol Cashback, and Offsite Campaigns—drive shopper engagement and brand success.
Our mission: Enable brick-and-mortar retailers to thrive in a digital world.
Position Summary:
Swiftly is seeking a Lead Product Designer to help elevate the quality, innovation, and impact of our digital products. This role will craft intuitive, effective experiences while navigating the complexities of the grocery and retail ecosystem — including commerce, loyalty, and advertising platforms. We’re looking for a designer who combines strong craft and strategic thinking with a forward-looking mindset, leveraging emerging tools like AI-assisted design and development to accelerate and enhance the work. This is a highly collaborative role, partnering closely with product, engineering, and research to create impactful solutions for our customers and business.
Responsibilities Include:
- Design exceptional user experiences and interfaces across web and mobile platforms, informed by research, analytics, and business goals
- Confidently use and experiment with modern design and prototyping tools — including Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and emerging AI-assisted tools like Cursor, Magician, or Uizard — to deliver high-quality work efficiently
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to shape product strategy and define the user experience vision
- Translate complex workflows and data into intuitive, elegant designs — particularly in commerce, loyalty, and advertising tooling domains
- Design thoughtful interfaces for internal and external ad tooling products, supporting campaign creation, management, and reporting workflows
- Plan, conduct, and synthesize user research (e.g., surveys, interviews, usability tests) to validate hypotheses and guide design decisions
- Help evolve and scale our design system and processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all touchpoints
- Communicate and present design decisions effectively at all levels of the organization
- Stay current on industry trends and bring fresh ideas, including how AI and automation can support and enhance design practice
- Contribute to building a strong design culture within the organization
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience designing and shipping consumer-facing web and/or mobile products, with at least some experience in Ad Tech
- Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional UX/UI skills across platforms, including examples of designing ad tooling or other enterprise-level workflows
- Expertise in Figma, Adobe XD, and other modern design/prototyping tools, plus experience integrating AI-powered tools to improve workflows and outcomes
- Familiarity with coding concepts or working alongside developers using tools like Cursor, Copilot, or similar AI-assisted development tools
- Solid experience designing and maintaining scalable design systems for multi-channel platforms
- Proficiency in translating research insights and analytics into impactful design solutions
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments while balancing long-term vision with short-term needs
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale clearly
- Creative thinker who is unafraid to challenge convention and push for innovation
- Direct experience designing advertising platforms, campaign management tools, or related ad-tech products
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- A mix of startup and large software company experience, comfortable navigating different scales and cultures
$155,000 - $175,000 a year
The salary range is based on the candidates experience as it relates to the role.
