The Specialist, L&D supports the People Team in designing and implementing high-impact learning programs. Under the leadership of an L&D Manager, the Specialist, L&D will partner with leaders, key stakeholders, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in business units to support the design, development, implementation and management of learning programs that drive employee performance. The Specialist will leverage experience in adult learning principles to create and manage a wide range of learning interventions and support tools including elearning courses, videos, v/ILT training sessions, job aids, and intranet pages. Learning programs will focus on creating scalable and sustainable learning solutions as the company grows, and tie into critical employee processes such as performance reviews, competency frameworks, and more.
We are flexible with respect to geographic location, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working remotely/work from home within the US or be based from Bethesda, MD office
Primary Duties:
- With manager coaching and guidance, manage learning programs from design to evaluation and implementation.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and team members to develop and implement learning interventions utilizing a variety of modalities designed to improve employee performance.
- Support the design and application of best-fit learning modalities (elearning, videos, job aids, v/ILT, intranet pages, etc) under managerial coaching.
- Serve as facilitator - with manager coaching as needed - for ILV/vILT training sessions, workshops, and other L&D-led events.
- Stay on top of learning trends and technologies.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required including supporting learning design and development surge support across L&D.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience supporting the development and implementation of learning programs.
- Exposure to creating and managing learning across a variety of learning modalities (e-learning creation, video creation/editing, ILT, and informal learning).
- Basic communication skills to collaborate within teams and with stakeholders.
- Proficient in use of instructional design models, such as the ADDIE model or similar framework .
- Experience with training facilitation.
- Interest in learning about employee enablement/performance.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to ensure timely delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in crafting clear and concise communications.
- Collaborative mindset, able to constructively engage colleagues and integrate feedback to drive success.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for prolonged periods of time. Extensive use of computers and keyboard. Occasional walking and lifting may be required.
The base salary/wage range for this position is: $75,300 – $92,867 USD annually
This range represents the expected base pay for the role across all U.S. locations, based on market data and internal benchmarking.
