Job description
The Product Designer II will work across the full suite of brands, mentor other designers, and help evolve our enterprise design system. Individual responsibility is very high, but impact and reward are huge. The design team structure at Lightcast is a blended model. All UX at Lightcast belongs to a centralized team within the Product organization, but designers also belong to pod teams of product managers, developers, analysts, and researchers, working as one to ship entire lines of business.
Major Responsibilities:
- Embed with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Analytics, Brand) to identify user and business opportunities informed by qualitative and quantitative insights.
- Translate insights into hypotheses and user-centered design solutions through sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals.
- Design with excellence across UI, visual, and interaction layers—crafting content-first experiences that are responsive and accessible across devices.
- Partner with engineers throughout the build process to ensure designs are feasible, accurate, and well-executed.
- Conduct or coordinate UX research (moderated and unmoderated) to validate concepts and iterate quickly based on feedback and results.
- Advocate for continuous product iteration—leveraging new insights to improve shipped work and proactively refine user experiences.
- Contribute to and maintain design systems and reusable component libraries to ensure consistency, scalability, and implementation efficiency.
- Present and communicate design rationale clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and teammates, supporting strong decision-making and alignment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as graphic design, interaction design, or a related discipline.
- 2-5 years of professional experience in product design or UI/UX design roles, preferably in a digital product or tech company.
