With a large and growing franchise in financial crime and control, Chartis is looking for a senior leader to take this segment of the Chartis portfolio to the next level; specifically, to action against strategic opportunity, deliver an engaging proactive customer experience, and execute opinion-based research. The individual must possess the ability to manage the research agenda while augmenting coverage with more tactical deliverable types. Our goal is to cultivate client relationships that are supportive of a subscription-based business model.
The individual must be able to evaluate vendor strategies and offerings that span across the financial crime space and present opinions as to applicability and effectiveness at meeting the needs in the marketplace. Chartis prides itself on the rigor of its methodologies. The individual must be comfortable with setting criteria for evaluating vendors and solutions with a structured defensible approach.
This is a senior role with team management responsibility and one that requires experience executing bespoke work, including speaking, authorship of custom marketing assets, and delivering strategy sessions.

The role is preferred to be based London or NY office. (No relocation available.) but remote candidates with the right experience will also be considered. Foreign and domestic travel may be required as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Define and conduct ongoing research and analysis of the segment and sub-segments that make up financial crime to provide insight and decision support for Technology Vendors, Financial Institutions and Investment Firms.
Execute aligned Quadrants/Rankings assessments.
Progress a distinct Chartis approach and structure on how to think about the factors driving strategies and product offerings of the vendors in the space that support financial services firms; how should our clients view the landscape achieve competitive differentiation and thrive.
Surface new opportunities for Chartis research coverage such that Chartis can be relied on as a thought leader.
Have the intellectual curiosity to understand and assess use cases that span across the spectrum of risk management within financial services to help clients make informed technology and business decisions.
Keep informed on market trends by reading, and networking with clients, vendors and analysts, to evaluate and analyse this market. Actively participate in internal Research Meetings and help socialize research thinking and new insights and positions.
Provide sales support to the Global team by speaking to prospective and existing clients via telephone, videoconference and by making face-to face sales calls with Chartis sales personnel and by delivering presentations as needed (small meetings, briefings and seminars/conferences).
Provide individualized consulting for clients, which involve presentations of Chartis Research and/or findings to individual companies.
Sustain reputation as a thought leader, able to discuss strategy, its application and the overarching trends that are shaping this market, to CROs, CEOs, Senior Risk managers, IT managers, and with CIOs/CCOs.
10+ years’ experience working within the field of quantitative analytics and machine learning: a Bachelor’s degree in related field; Masters preferred.
Working experience and knowledge specific to fin crime, the provieers and buyer use cases
Demonstrate knowledge of the technology and an understanding of the regulatory considerations that are global in nature.
Strong communicator with evidence of excellent verbal and written skills, with an ability to explain complex concepts both concisely and simply.
Highly process-driven with strong analytical capabilities, the ability to task switch, be happy with new challenges, and be able to share opinions and receive feedback from colleagues.
Be willing to push new ideas and opinions to peers, clients and the wider market.
Being known in the industry, presenting to large audiences, contributing to press articles, etc., are all desirable.
