Job description

Salesforce Practice Lead & Architect

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Salesforce Practice Lead & Architect to drive the growth of AEQ’s Salesforce services and take technical ownership of strategic client engagements. This leader will shape the long-term vision of AEQ’s Salesforce offering while acting as a hands-on architect who can own end-to-end solution delivery.

Who you are:

This is a strategic and deeply technical role — ideal for a Salesforce expert who thrives in both leadership and implementation, with the ability to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and performant technical solutions.

This role starts as a consultant contractor with the potential to transition into a full-time position.

What you will be doing:

Practice Leadership

  • Define and execute AEQ’s Salesforce practice roadmap.
  • Establish delivery frameworks, coding standards, and reusable design patterns.
  • Mentor and recruit Salesforce developers, architects, and consultants.

Solution Architecture & Technical Ownership

  • Lead technical discovery, architectural design, and end-to-end implementation of Salesforce solutions.
  • Define multi-cloud and multi-org architectures (Sales, Service, Experience, Marketing Cloud).
  • Drive integration strategies with external systems (e.g., .NET, Azure APIs, MDM, and banking or financial systems).
  • Optimize Salesforce org health, including technical debt reduction, code quality, and CI/CD setup.
  • Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and performance tuning for mission-critical implementations.

Client Delivery & Growth

  • Act as the technical lead on strategic engagements (e.g. financial institutions, public sector).
  • Partner with AEQ’s business and UX leads to align architecture with customer experience goals.
  • Support proposals, RFPs, and client workshops by providing architectural leadership and delivery plans.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Must-Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in Salesforce platform architecture, development, and solution delivery.
  • 3+ years in a technical leadership or practice-building capacity.
  • Proficient in Apex, LWC (Lightning Web Components), Visualforce, SOQL, and platform automation (Flows, Process Builder).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Gearset, Copado, Jenkins) and source control (e.g., Git).
  • Proven success integrating Salesforce with external platforms using REST, SOAP, or platform events.
  • Strong understanding of security, governance, and Salesforce limits in enterprise-grade deployments.
  • Familiarity with agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) and technical documentation best practices.
  • Salesforce certifications:
  • Required: Salesforce Platform Developer I & II, Application Architect or System Architect.
  • Preferred: Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA).

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with public sector or regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with Azure services, API Management, and .NET backend ecosystems.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards and UI/UX best practices within Salesforce constraints.
  • Experience working in multi-org environments and Center of Excellence (CoE) setup.
