WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Senior BI Engineer, you will join the Provider Data Science team to help us build and maintain a strong analytical foundation in Looker, from which we’ll unlock provider and pharmacy related insights to core Thyme Care stakeholders. You will model data, develop intuitive explores in Looker, and deliver consistent and performant dashboards and reports to help us understand and improve our business.

In this position, you will collaborate with our Product, Clinical, and Network Operations teams to identify, size and track pharmacy opportunities and provider-related incentive models. You will help us raise the bar of what great analytics look and feel like for our internal customers with ongoing documentation and training efforts in support of a Looker implementation that is a reliable, intuitive, and approachable source of insights and information.

  • Gain a deep understanding of our business and key stakeholders, and translate their actions and questions into intuitive and illuminating data models
  • Work alongside a team of data scientists and data analysts to develop systems to organize and maintain high value analytics and reporting assets (KPIs, customer-facing metrics, etc.)
  • Play a key role in developing and executing on a roadmap to further build out a modular and scalable analytics platform
  • Develop documentation and training materials to improve the data fluency and Looker comfort of our internal customers
  • Build canonical and one-off exploratory dashboards for business and clinical stakeholders
  • Build customer-facing reports and coordinate with business operations teams on specifications, deliveries, and ongoing troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot data model and reporting issues, ensuring accurate, up-to-date, and performant analytics are always available to support decision-making

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • Deep experience (5+ years) working as a Looker developer building views, explores, models, and final dashboards / reports
  • Strong SQL skills and a familiarity with, or willingness to learn, dbt
  • Recommended: 2+ years of experience working with healthcare operations data (claims, prior auth, EHR, scheduling, etc.)
  • A bias for transparency and partnership with stakeholders, balancing building it “right” vs building what’s needed “right now”
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excitement about joining a fast-moving startup that iterates quickly and prioritizes delivery

Clear communication.  You can effectively convey your thoughts and ideas to both technical and non-technical colleagues and stakeholders.

Comfort with ambiguity. You have a successful track record working at scaling organizations, in fast-paced environments, and at ambitious startups. You navigate through challenges and find solutions in uncertain situations.

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Thyme Care.  Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Thyme Care employees. The base salary for this role is $135,000 to $150,000. The salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired at another level.
