About the Role:

We’re looking for a high-caliber backend engineer with a passion for data and a deep understanding of analytics architectures. If you’re excited about designing and scaling high-throughput systems, working with best-in-class tools like ClickHouse, and mentoring others along the way this could be your next big move. You’ll help lead initiatives that drive our analytics platform forward, supporting real-time insights at scale in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment.

What You’ll Do:

●Design, build, and optimize analytics stores using ClickHouse for speed, scale, and reliability.

●Translate complex business needs into performant queries and data models that support deep analytical use cases.

●Apply strong Java and/or PHP skills to evolve our service layer, with a focus on integration with high-volume data platforms.

●Collaborate with product and development teams to define requirements and ensure data solutions are accurate, scalable, and maintainable.

●Own end-to-end delivery: from architecture to deployment, including tests, monitoring, and performance tuning.

●Shape our platform’s future by contributing to architecture discussions, POCs, and long-term scaling strategies.

●Debug and optimize production systems, especially those handling large-scale query loads or ingest pipelines.

●Mentor team members on best practices in data engineering, backend architecture, and efficient querying.

What We’re Looking For:

●Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

●4+ years of backend engineering experience in high-scale systems.

●Deep experience with SQL and columnar analytics stores (ClickHouse strongly preferred).

●Strong background in Java and/or PHP (including frameworks like Spring Boot or Laravel).

●Proven experience designing and optimizing data models for fast analytical queries.

●Familiarity with Kafka and event-driven systems.

●Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

●Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.

●Pragmatic engineering instincts: balancing performance, simplicity, and business needs.

●Passion for performance: you know how to identify bottlenecks and how to fix them.

$130,000 - $150,000 a year

Compensation is anticipated to be between $130,000 - $150,000 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.
