Job description

About Us

At SentinelOne, we’re redefining cybersecurity by pushing the limits of what’s possible—leveraging AI-powered, data-driven innovation to stay ahead of tomorrow’s threats.

From building industry-leading products to cultivating an exceptional company culture, our core values guide everything we do. We’re looking for passionate individuals who thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to drive impact. If you’re excited about solving complex challenges in bold, innovative ways, we’d love to connect with you.

Who Are We Looking For

We are seeking a technically strong and experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead and grow one of the teams within our Core SaaS Platform engineering organization. This group is foundational to our enterprise-grade SaaS offerings – building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems, as well as internal tools that elevate the developer experience across SentinelOne.

As a core engineering organization, we play a critical role in end-to-end feature development and contribute significantly to the architectural design and evolution of SentinelOne’s cybersecurity platform, built to support the hyper-growth of our business.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in technically complex environments, has deep architectural expertise, and leads by example. We’re looking for someone with strong experience in Java and other backend technologies, a solid history of successful project delivery, and proven leadership in scaling high-performing engineering teams within global, fast-paced environments.

What Will You Do

  • Lead a distributed team of software engineers responsible for building and maintaining the core components of our SaaS platform, including service orchestration, API layers, and backend microservices.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, UX design and architecture to shape the roadmap and deliver impactful, high-quality features and platform services.
  • Drive design decisions that improve the product architecture and proactively identify areas for technical improvement based on engineering insights.
  • Contribute to technical discussions, perform design and code reviews, and support your team with technical leadership and mentorship.
  • Champion engineering excellence by promoting best practices in design, testing, observability, performance, and operational reliability.
  • Scale the team by hiring top talent, nurturing a strong and inclusive team culture, and supporting individual growth and career development.
  • Work across departments and global time zones to ensure alignment, execution, and transparency in delivering cross-functional initiatives.
  • Operate at the scale of a global, cloud-native cybersecurity platform – deployed across six AWS/GCP regions, serving over a million users from enterprise and government security teams worldwide (including 4 of the Fortune 10 and hundreds of Global 2000 companies), protecting tens of millions of endpoints, and processing tens of billions of events daily.

Work & Team Setup

We work in an agile environment with two-week sprints, emphasizing iterative progress, shared accountability, and fast feedback loops. Our teams are distributed across EMEA, the US, and APAC, requiring strong collaboration across time zones and a high level of clarity in communication.

We prioritize transparency, business alignment, and cross-functional collaboration. Engineers work closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver end-to-end customer value — not just shipping code, but ensuring we solve the right problems in the right way.

Breaking silos and owning outcomes is a core part of our culture. We encourage engineers to look beyond their immediate scope, work across boundaries, and take ownership of the full delivery lifecycle — from idea to production impact.

We’re looking for individuals who are driven by impact, value close collaboration, and can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where both the technical and business context matter. You’ll be expected to contribute not only as a technical leader, but also as a partner in shaping how our teams work and grow.

While we’re deeply technical, we keep a strong business focus. We expect our engineers to understand the “why” behind what they build, connect their work to company goals, and always consider the customer impact. This mindset helps us stay agile and make the most meaningful product and architecture decisions as we scale.

Our Technology Stack

We work with a modern, cloud-native technology stack that supports scalable, resilient systems:

  • Languages & Frameworks: Java (Spring Boot, Web, WebFlux, Cloud), Python, Golang
  • Build & DB Tools: Gradle, Jooq
  • Data & Messaging: Kafka, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Redis
  • Containerization & Infrastructure: Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, Terraform
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS, GCP
  • CI/CD & DevOps: GitHub Actions, ArgoCD
  • Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana

What Experience or Knowledge Should You Bring

  • 4+ years of engineering management experience with a track record of building and retaining high-performing teams.
  • 5+ years of hands-on software development experience; strong background in Java is highly preferred, with additional experience in languages like Go or Python a plus.
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; proven ability to drive large cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience with agile development processes.
  • Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale, with attention to reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native systems and modern infrastructure technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP).
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in a global, collaborative environment.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.
