Finary is a hybrid remote company. Our talented team is currently based in France and across Europe. Our office is located in the heart of Paris, and we organize on-site every 6 weeks.

About the role
Your manager will be Bertrand Lehurt (VP Engineering)
As Finary’s Senior Data Engineer, you’ll build our data infrastructure from the ground up, empowering our teams to make data-driven decisions that enhance our financial platform for customers. You’ll design and implement robust data pipelines, create a centralized data warehouse, and establish self-service analytics capabilities across the organization.
You’ll own the entire data stack end-to-end – from data ingestion and transformation to modeling, quality, and governance. Working closely with product, engineering, and business teams, you’ll ensure that Finary has the right data infrastructure to scale effectively and deliver impactful insights.
This is a highly autonomous role where you’ll set the foundation for Finary’s data strategy and execution, implementing best practices that will support our growth for years to come.
You’d be a great fit if you
Have proven experience building scalable, reliable data pipelines and infrastructure from scratch
Excel at designing efficient data models and warehouse architectures that balance performance and flexibility
Are proficient in SQL and Python with the ability to write complex queries and transformation logic
Have strong experience with modern data stack tools (Airflow, dbt, BigQuery or similar)
Possess expertise with Google Cloud Platform for data infrastructure
Can break down ambiguous problems into concrete, actionable steps
Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Thrive when given autonomy and ownership over your domain
Have experience implementing data governance practices around sensitive information
Are comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities may shift
Enjoy cross-functional collaboration and proactively seek to understand business requirements.
Bonus points if you
Have implemented real-time or near real-time data streaming solutions
Are familiar with CI/CD practices for data pipeline development
Have experience with data infrastructure as code using Terraform
Have worked with AI/ML data pipelines or feature stores
Can mentor and guide stakeholders on data best practices and usage
Have experience with data observability and data quality monitoring tools
Have implemented data solutions in a regulated environment
Are a team player, are humble, and like to help others grow
are genuinely friendly and ambitious
like to take initiative and find new creative solutions to problems
are an excellent communicator and know how to coordinate teams, collect feedback and identify bottlenecks
are fluent in English (written and spoken)
break down big projects into small deliverables, well-presented to engineers, and move fast based on user feedback. You prefer small solutions and know when to improve something.
