SUMMARY:

Experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps practices, focusing on DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI) systems. This role involves supporting the reliability, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure, as well as automating processes to improve efficiency.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Assist with the deployment, implementation, operations, and product life-cycle management of critical services and solutions within the global
  • enterprise environment.
  • Help resolve incidents and problems associated with DNS, DHCP, IPAM, NTP, and Proxy.
  • Manage day-to-day checkouts in the DDI space.
  • Follow established policies and procedures for preparing and executing break-fix changes, handling incidents, and escalations.
  • Maintain existing runbooks and create new documentation.
  • Ensure assigned service tickets, incidents, and changes are updated and closed within agreed SLA.
  • Prepare detailed RCA reports and track respective action items until closure.
  • Help define, operationalize, and transition sustainable processes to manage, maintain, support, and operate DDI Infrastructure.
  • Communicate and collaborate with cross-platform teams on technical challenges and solutions.
  • Maintain accurate diagrams, inventory, and documentation on DDI products deployment and infrastructure.
  • Identify key risk areas and suggest new process improvement opportunities.
  • Develop service validation and testing capabilities and dashboards to monitor the overall health and performance of the security solutions.
  • Ensure DDI services are running within expected performance thresholds.
  • Peer review and approve changes/tasks.
  • Provide engineering support to other teams in support of making configuration changes.
  • Collaborate with other internal/external teams such as Network Operations, Architecture and Engineering, vendors, and clients on new
  • configuration designs and deployments.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for incident response and proactive incident measures.
  • Monitor infrastructure using SRE tools and suggest improvements as necessary.
  • Automate infrastructure across the CI/CD pipeline.

COMPENTENCY:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Some experience in SRE and DevOps roles, with a focus on DDI systems.
  • Basic knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Perl. Java is a plus.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and routing.
  • Experience developing web applications using frameworks like Spring MVC, DropWizard, or React.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding and working knowledge of enterprise DNS/DHCP and IPAM architecture and management capabilities.
  • Experience with DDI tools like VitalQIP and Bluecat.
  • Knowledge about External DNS, ISP, Domain registration, and DNSSEC.
  • Understanding CA/SAML certificate renewal process.
  • Good understanding of Network Time Protocol (NTP) and clock management.
  • Experience with web servers like HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, etc.
  • Good understanding of network and basic protocols (e.g., TCP, UDP).
  • Technical experience with IP Anycast design, iBGP/eBGP network routing protocol, and Quagga.
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting applications in Python and/or Perl. Understanding of REST APIs used by the enterprise.
  • Strong proficiency in Linux management and BASH scripting.
  • Understanding of F5 LTM/GTM or any load balancing technology.
  • Experience in Splunk log and network packet captures analysis for troubleshooting.
  • Understanding dashboards like Kibana, Grafana, Netcool, etc.
  • Demonstrable project management experience with evidence of successful project delivery.
  • Highly self-motivated and the ability to work independently as well as in a global team environment.
  • Understanding database data modeling (SQL and NoSQL).
  • Experience in using cryptography algorithms.
  • Understanding message queueing products (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
  • Strong understanding about alert enablement, Monitoring tools like SevONE, Nagios, ThousandEyes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent

EXPERIENCE: 5+ Years

LANGUAGE SKILLS: English

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • Regular, repetitive movements such as typing, mouse movements, and scrolling. Ability to hear and understand spoken communications, both in person and via remote communication tools (e.g., phone, video conferencing).
  • Ability to see and read computer screens and printed documents, as well as adjust focus. This includes prolonged periods of looking at a computer screen.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Hybrid 3 days onsite at Jersey City, NJ facility (there is also the option to work 3 days onsite at New York, NY)

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday from 9am to 5:30pm with occasional work on weekends or off hours as dictated by client onsite management. Total shift not to exceed 8 hours of work, 1 hour lunch, two 15 minute breaks.
