Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, and motivated Senior Environment Artist to join our team and deliver high quality assets across a range of titles in development, whilst playing a key role in developing and evolving our Environment Art standards and pipelines.
In this role, working alongside our Art Director, you will deliver high quality Environment Art and Props working across a wide range of projects and styles. You will have a strong input on pipeline and standards and will have the opportunity to help develop the studios’ working practices for Environment Art. The ideal candidate is excited by Environment Art and keeps up to date with modern pipelines and technologies and seeks opportunities to refine our processes and raise the quality bar with each project.

Key responsibilities:
- Delivering High Quality Environment Art Assets across multiple styles and projects.
- Working with the Art Director to shape the Environment Art pipeline for Compass studio and evolve the pipeline and techniques as new technologies become available.
- Develop test models and example models for new projects and styles, and provide documentation to support the team.
- Mentor Standard and Junior Level Environment Artists and ensure consistent standards are delivered across the team.
The skills you will need:
- A high-quality Environment Art Portfolio showing off your Artistic ability and eye.
- Excellent Modelling and Texturing skills and knowledge.
- Experience using Unreal Editor for Environment Art and World building.
- Has worked on at least 1 title in an Environment Art Role, on any commercial gaming platform and experienced the full development cycle (concept to release).
- A collaborative and team-oriented work approach, demonstrated by experience in setting up processes and practices that consider and harness the team’s strengths.
- ·Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and able to distill information down to the essence of what others need to know.
The nice to haves:
- Experience in VR in a Production capacity, and as a keen enthusiast knowledgeable on the trends and hottest games in this sector of the industry.
- ·Experience creating Environment Art for restrictive platforms such as mobile or VR and understanding the tricks and techniques to get the best results.
